Irish flautist, James Galway to be knighted

The Irish musician James Galway is to be made a British Knight on the Queen

of England's birthday.

He will join a list of musicians and sports stars who will be given and OBE today, including Alan Shearer, Jackie Stewart and John Charles.

Other people who will be recognised for their achievements on the Queen's Birthday Honours list include John Motson, Dudley Moore and Ellen McArthur.
