Adams retains seat

The President of the Sinn Fein party Gerry Adams has successfully held his seat in the West Belfast constituency in the Westminster elections in the North.

Mr Adams, who will not take up his seat in the British parliament, had a majority of almost 20,000 votes over his closest rival from the SDLP.
