Gun thieves tied up B and B family

The gang who raided a midlands gunshop earlier booked into Gerry Scully’s bed and breakfast and locked the owners into a room.

The gang who raided a midlands gunshop earlier booked into Gerry Scully’s bed and breakfast and locked the owners into a room.

The B and B is attached to his gun shop near Athlone, Co Westmeath.

The gang broke into the family house and locked Mr Scully, his wife and their family of three children into a room, while they stole the shop’s shotguns and rifles.

The Gardai were alerted soon afterwards and a garda helicopter is involved in the search.

It is believed that the five men and one woman all had Dublin accents and gardai say that there is no evidence of paramilitary involvement but that all possibilities are being investigated.
