Govt child protection policy criticised

The Government has been condemned for its failure to deliver a national policy for protection to young people and youth organisations.

The National Youth Federation has attacked the Government for its failure to deliver an adequate policy for young Irish people.

The federation also claimed that the lack of such a policy would leave more children open to the risk of abuse and neglect and would discourage people from working with young people in positions such as minders and carers.
