Unions will oppose Aer Lingus sale

Aer Lingus could face further industrial difficulties if the Government pushes ahead with a sale of the airline.

The trade union IMPACT, which represents over 2,000 workers in the State owned airline, has said that it is strongly against any such sale and that they will use every opportunity to block the sale.

The sale was first suggested by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O’Rourke, last weekend.
