The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is organising its first North-South conference to tackle racism.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is organising its first North-South conference to tackle racism.

It is planned to develop a two-year action plan, which will be debated at the ICTU biennial conference in July.

It is the first such conference at which the participants will hammer out anti-racist programmes for the workplace and organise strategies for Ireland’s growing groups of ethnic minorities.

The event will also develop alliances and a network between the trade union movement and the NGOs on north-south anti-racist campaigns.
