450 new jobs announced for Limerick

Limerick is set to get 450 new jobs with the opening of a new shopping centre in the city.

250 of the jobs will be in the anchor £16m Superquinn store with the remaining 200 spread through the other 22 outlets.

A Superquinn spokesman said the company was particularly interested in recruiting retired people back into the workforce.

Located in the Castletroy Shopping Centre, it will be the first Superquinn store west of the Shannon.

The centre is due to open in October.
