The first of the new light rail trams, which will begin service on the streets of Dublin in 2003, has been unveiled by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O'Rourke.

In all, 40 trams are on order for the Luas system, serving Sandyford to the city centre and Tallaght to Connolly Station, with the first batch due for delivery in October.
