Archbishop Connell celebrates 50 years as priest
Cardinal Archbishop Desmond Connell is today celebrating fifty years as a priest with a special mass at the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin.
He is expected to be joined by members of his family and fellow clergymen who were ordained with him in 1951.
The celebration comes at the end of a controversial week for the Archbishop following an invitation from the Taoiseach and his partner Celia Larkin to a Government reception in his honour.
