Investigation launched into Derry explosion

The RUC is investigating an overnight explosion at a British Army base in the centre of Derry.

The device went off at around 12.45am at the Masonic base.

No one was injured and slight damage was caused to the base.

The area has been cordoned off while searches are conducted in the area.

Meanwhile, minor scorch damage was caused to two houses in Coleraine in pipe bomb attacks. The houses were occupied at the time but no one was injured.
