Ireland 'let down' by Ahern partner debate - Quinn

Labour leader Ruairi Quinn has called on the churches to have greater respect for those in relationships other than marriage.

Referring to the controversy over last night's remarks by Cardinal Desmond Connell at a reception for him co-hosted by the Taoiseach and his partner, Celia Larkin, Deputy Quinn said modern Ireland had been let down.
