Rioters attack police officers

In the North, a man was injured and two police officers were attacked during rioting at a flashpoint close to the Drumcree dispute in Portadown overnight.

Three arrests were made after the trouble erupted between over 40 people at Woodhouse Street in Co Armagh.

One man was admitted to hospital with head injuries and two police officers, who were helping him, were also attacked.

A follow-up operation resulted in one arrest for riotous behaviour and another two for disorderly behaviour.
