Garda receives stitches after Tallaght attack

Gardai in Tallaght have charged a man in his early 20s with public order offences after a gang of youths attacked a Garda last night.

The 20 or so youths confronted the officer in the Fortunestown area at 11pm and became aggressive when asked to disperse.

The Garda needed six stitches to his face when one of the youths attacked him with a broken bottle.

Further reinforcements were called and the gang eventually moved on.
