No confidence motion fails

A bid by hardline Unionists to have a motion of no confidence in Sinn Fein Minister, Martin McGuinness, passed has failed.

Members of the SDLP joined with Sinn Fein to lodge a counter petition forcing a vote on the issue to be held on Tuesday.

The no confidence motion was tabled after Mr McGuinness admitting being the second in command in Derry City at the time of the Bloody Sunday shootings.
