The Fine Gael leader is warning that the economic slowdown in the United States could lead to the loss of up to 10,000 Irish jobs.

Addressing the American Chambers of Commerce in Dublin this afternoon, Michael Noonan said that the slowdown of the NASDAQ technology index in particular will hit Ireland hard.

Deputy Noonan says that while he is optimistic about the Irish economy, a knock-on effect in inevitable.
