Man saved by heart of dead attack victim nephew
The heart of a Derry man who was killed in a violent assault over the weekend has been transplanted into his sick uncle in an operation in England.
Mark Robinson, 22, died in a Belfast hospital after receiving head injuries and eleven stab wounds in an attack in Derry.
He had signed a donor card only weeks previously.
The dead man's uncle, Lawrence McGonigal, had been given 24 hours to live last Tuesday and is reportedly doing well in intensive care.
