Final day in ASTI ballot
Today is the final day of balloting in the ASTI dispute over pay.
Secondary teachers around the country have been deciding over the past number of days how they would like to proceed with their action.
However, it is still unclear whether or not they will decide to impose a ban on this year's state exams.
The dispute has raged since the latter part of last year with teachers demanding a pay increase of 30%.
In the meantime they have refused to enter the benchmarking process, stopped working to rule and gone on strike causing major disruption for exam students.
At the ASTI annual convention in Galway, delegates voted overwhelmingly to put Labour Court proposals out to ballot with the recommendation that they be rejected.
So far teachers have returned their votes and today is the final day of the ballot. Counting will be on Wednesday with a result expected on Friday.
