Lighthouse bid to draw in tourist

A centuries-old lighthouse is being promoted as a beacon for Ireland’s bid to guide tourists back to the country in the face of problems generated by the foot-and-mouth crisis.

The light at Hook Head, on the southern edge of Co Wexford, has aided seafarers off one of Europe’s most notoriously treacherous coastlines for more than 750 years.
