Taxi-man must pay £30,000 after assault

A taxi-man has been ordered by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to pay compensation of £30,000 to a bank official he seriously injured during an assault in 1997.

A taxi-man has been ordered by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to pay compensation of £30,000 to a bank official he seriously injured during an assault in 1997.

51-year-old Nicholas Carrol of Barnamore Crescent in Finglas was told by the court today that the £10,000 he was offering was not enough and ordered him to return to court next month with the required compensation.
