Dublin in expensive housing top twenty

Dublin has been named as the sixteenth most expensive city in the world in which to buy a house in a new international survey.

The study, by top New York estate agents Corcoran and Co., surveyed property prices in cities across the world.

London came in top spot, with San Francisco second, Hong Kong third and New York fourth.

The study found a 750 sq ft two-bedroom flat on Ballsbridge's Shrewsbury Rd cost £375,000 - £500 per sq ft.

This put Dublin slightly behind Edinburgh, but still well ahead of Madrid, Toronto and Montreal.
