Sub-committee visit Abbeylara

Members of a Dail sub-committee will today visit the scene of the shooting of 27-year-old John Carthy, just over a year ago.

The seven members of the Committee investigating the Abbeylara shooting are continuing with their inquiries despite objections from lawyers representing the gardai.

Committee chairman Sean Ardagh said it was the right of the committee to reach conclusions independent of the findings of the Garda report.
