A 19-year-old Dublin man has gone on trial in the Central Criminal Court, accused of murdering a 72-year-old widow three years ago.

A 19-year-old Dublin man has gone on trial in the Central Criminal Court, accused of murdering a 72-year-old widow three years ago.

Richard Kearney, 53 Finglas Place, Finglas, is charged with killing Mary Dillon in November 1998.

He is also accused of trespassing on Ms Dillon's property at 1 Beneavin Road, Dublin 11, on March 17, 1998.

The case was originally scheduled for June 23 of last year, but collapsed after a flaw was discovered in the original court order.
