Two dead gardai named

The two gardai, who died this morning in a road accident in Cork City, have been named.

The two men were 45-year-old George Rice from Kilgarvan, Co Kerry, and 29-year-old Seamus McIntyre, who was from Kenmare, Co Kerry.

Garda Rice was married with three children while Garda McIntyre was single.

The pair died when their patrol car collided with a cab on the North Ring Road.

The cab driver and passenger are recovering in hospital.
