Garda bodies call for Abbeylara inquiry

Two Garda representative bodies are calling for an inquiry into the Abbeylara shooting, which happened one year ago.

The Garda Representative Association and the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors say that a public inquiry is the only way to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of John Carthy.

A Dáil committee is to meet later this week to begin hearings on the incident.
