Gardai name Limerick stabbing victim

The man stabbed to death in an incident in Limerick in the early hours of this morning has been named.

The man stabbed to death in an incident in Limerick in the early hours of this morning has been named.

He was 30-year-old David Sheridan from Fairhill, Rathkeale in Limerick.

Mr Sheridan died at Limerick Regional Hospital, after being rushed there with stab wounds following an altercation in the city.

A post mortem is due to be carried out this afternoon.

Gardai are continuing to question a man in relation to the death.
