Youth dies after hurling accident

A 19-year-old hurler, who was injured in a club game at Newmarket-on-Fergus

in Co Clare, has died at Ennis General Hospital.

The youth, who is thought to be from the Cratloe area, was hurt in an accident just

after the restart of the game between Cratloe and Ballyea.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he died two hours later.

The death has been confirmed by Ennis Gardai, who have not yet released the youth’s name.
