Cull of sheep and cattle begins in Louth

The mass slaughter of all sheep and some cattle on the Cooley peninsula began last night.

The Department of Agriculture ordered the extension of the cull despite the return of negative test results for traces of the disease, from the farm at Piedmont in Co Louth.
