Ahern arrives in north Louth
The Taoiseach has arrived in north Co Louth, where he is due to meet farmers and people involved in the tourism industry.
Bertie Ahern said he plans to thank those "at the front line" in the fight against foot-and-mouth disease.
Farmers in the Cooley peninsula are awaiting an official announcement on whether more sheep and livestock must be slaughtered in the region.
