First person charged under human trafficking laws

A Ukrainian man arrested under the immigrant trafficking laws has been remanded in custody.

A Ukrainian man arrested under the immigrant trafficking laws has been remanded in custody.

28-year-old Dimitro Beziacoff with an address at Phibsboro Road in Dublin was arrested at Dublin Airport yesterday.

He is the first person to be charged under the act.

When he was arrested arriving on a flight from Paris, he was allegedly carrying false passports and bank account details.

He will appear again in one week’s time.
