An Irish-registered fishing boat with four crew on board has been towed into Achill in Co Mayo this morning.

An Irish-registered fishing boat with four crew on board has been towed into Achill in Co Mayo this morning.

Achill lifeboat was called out just after 3am after the Lady Evelyn's engine failed about three miles off Achill Head.

Conditions in the area are described as difficult, with gale force winds and rain.

All four crew on board the vessel are safe.
