Assistant state pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy and members of the Garda Technical Bureau are examining the scene of today's fatal blaze in Dublin.

Witnesses reported hearing an explosion before the fire and seeing a man running from the scene.

The names of the dead man and woman, in their twenties, have not yet been released.

They died when the blaze ripped though their flat at North King Street in the Bridewell area of the city.
