Angry scenes as U2 concert tickets sell out

Thousands of U2 fans, some of whom had queued for up to 24 hours for tickets for the band's first Irish concert in four years, still haven't found what they're looking for.

There were angry scenes in Dublin as tickets for this August's gig at Slane Castle, Co Meath, sold out in less than an hour.

Many fans had waited outside ticket outlets since Friday morning, only to find they had been beaten by fans booking over the internet or by telephone.

In Dublin, one youth was arrested and extra police officers were called in as disappointed fans were turned away from Ticketmaster in Grafton Street.

Tickets were limited to six per person.

An Garda spokesman said: "There was a bit of pushing and shoving in the crowd in Dublin and in other towns early this morning.

"One youth in Dublin was told to move on but didn't and made a nuisance of himself and was arrested."
