Ireland enforces livestock smuggling measures

Stringent new measures to halt cross-border livestock smuggling are due to come into operation in Ireland over the foot and mouth outbreak.

The legislation was rushed through the Dublin parliament earlier this week as the Irish government intensified efforts to keep the disease out of the country.
