Man get five years for father's manslaughter

A Dublin man already serving a life sentence for the murder of his mother has been convicted of the manslaughter of his father.

29-year-old John Francis Dolan of Ravensdale Rd, East Wall, killed his parents John and Gertrude in the family home in June 1999.

During the trial, the court heard how father-of-one Dolan first stabbed his mother, then killed his father when he came down the stairs to investigate.

Dolan was convicted of his father's manslaughter and sentenced to five years to run concurrently with his life sentence.

Speaking through his solicitor, Dolan expressed his deep remorse and regret to the court for his actions.
