Nice Treaty to be subject of referendum

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern said there will probably be a referendum on the Nice Treaty, even though most other European countries are not holding one.

Mr Ahern confirmed it will be held as part of a joint referenda. He told the Dail this afternoon that he thinks people here will vote in favour of the issue.
