Man in court following drugs swoop

A 41-year-old man will appear in a Belfast court today following a £1m drugs seizure in the city.

The man, from Blackpool, faces charges at Belfast Magistrates Court of possession, and possession with intent to supply cannabis and ecstasy.

The drugs haul, one of the biggest in Belfast in recent years, was discovered when a van was stopped by police in north Belfast last week. Three people were arrested.

On Saturday a 35-year-old from Morecambe was remanded in custody on similar charges.
