Possible foot and mouth outbreak in Carlow area

There has been another foot and mouth scare here in the past couple of hours.

The area surrounding Mount Leinster in Co Carlow has been closed by gardai as Department of Agriculture officials carry out tests on a farm in the Carlow area.

The farm is thought to have imported livestock from Britain earlier this week.

Meanwhile, another farm in Co Kilkenny has also been sealed off after it was revealed that about 20 cows and calves were moved to it from the farm in Carlow.
