Higgins blasts bombing of Iraq

Labour TD Michael D Higgins has condemned the American and British air strikes on Iraq last Friday, saying the represent a victory for militarism over diplomacy.

He said the raids would only serve to bolster Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and further secure his grip on power.
