ICTU backs union dispute with British Midlands
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has given its full support to the ATGWU in its dispute with the airline British Midlands.
The ATGWU has expressed concern at the use of inexperienced and untrained staff being brought in by the company during the strike and said that it may infringe safety procedures. The union plans to raise the issue with Aer Rianta.
It has also warned it may place an all-out picket on Dublin Airport in the event of British Midlands refusing to negotiate and continuing to import staff from elsewhere.
