Body found in Cork City
The body of a man in his 30s has been discovered in Cork city centre this morning.
The man, who hailed from the northside of the city, was discovered outside a premises at the junction of Henry Street and Grattan Street at around 8am this morning, though clothes and other personal effects were found elsewhere.
It has transpired that the man was a patient at the Mercy Hospital, but checked himself out at 5:30am - barely two and a half hours before he was found dead.
A post-mortem is to be carried out at Cork University Hospital. Gardai are treating the death as suspicious.
