Tullamore hit by further job losses

The midlands has been dealt another blow with the news that 50 more jobs are to go at a Tullamore clothing factory.

Snickers Workwear has announced that it is to cut its workforce by almost half.

The losses are being blamed on cheaper labour costs in Eastern Europe and Asia.

It is the second major employment loss to hit the Co Offaly town in four weeks. The Lowe Alpine leisurewear company in the town recently made 250 staff redundant.
