Bruton facing uphill battle for leadership role

Fine Gael leader John Bruton today begins what could be the toughest week in his political career after two of his frontbenchers threw down a challenge to his leadership.

Deputy Bruton will commence his campaign to save his leadership ahead of the tabling of the motion by Jim Mitchell and Michael Noonan.
