Controlled explosion carried out on Limerick device

Controlled explosions have been carried out on a suspect device which is at the centre of a security alert in Limerick.

The alert centres around Keane Street in the city's Garryowen area.

A bomb squad from Cork is at the scene.

About half a mile away from the device, it is understood that Gardai have also sealed off a car park.
