Athletics benefits from £500,000 grant

The Athletics Association of Ireland has received the biggest share of the Irish Sports Council's £8.1m grant allocation for the coming year.

The AAI will receive more than £500,000 for training, competitions and infrastructure.

Other sports to receive large amounts include the Golfing Union of Ireland, the Equestrian Federation and the Irish Sailing Association.
