Labour calls for new drinks order

The Labour party has called on the Government to impose a new drinks order.

The party’s spokesman on enterprise, trade and employment made the call after some publicans raised the price of a pint by as much as 15p.

Pat Rabitte TD said a price order should be introduced and backdated to before Christmas.

Deputy Rabitte says "greedy" publicans should not be allowed to push up inflation by raising the price of a pint when they feel like it.
