The trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering his parents in 1999 is underway in the Central Criminal Court.

27-year old John Francis Dolan of East Wall in Dublin has pleaded not guilty.

He is accused of murdering his 56-year old mother Gertrude on a date between June 16th and 28th in 1999.

Both of Mr Dolan’s parents were stabbed to death and the bodies had been in the house for almost a week before they were discovered.

It is believed the attack arose from a domestic dispute.

A jury of six of six women are hearing this case under Justice Paul Carley.

The trial is expected to last for at least two weeks.
