Nevin appeal date decision adjourned

A Dublin court has adjourned an appeal date for Catherine Nevin to allow time to assess whether or not the convicted murderer can pay for the action.

A Dublin court has adjourned a decision on an appeal date for Catherine Nevin to allow time to assess whether or not the convicted murderer can pay for the action.

It is estimated the Nevin estate is worth over £1m, although it is not yet clear if Mrs Nevin can benefit from the sale of her murdered husband's assets.

Depending on the type of tenancy which results from the sale, Mrs Nevin may or may not be barred from receiving a portion of the proceeds. She did not appear for today's brief hearing.

Tom Nevin's family is expected to launch a civil action shortly to prevent her gaining access to the money, which has been frozen since the assets were sold.
