Glenroe to be axed

RTE's long-running drama Glenroe is to be axed, the nation's main broadcaster announced today.

The show has been experiencing declining viewing numbers and the loss of a number of star names.

The show has slipped in the ratings and has lost two of its main characters with the departure of Mary McEvoy, who played Biddy, and Joe Lynch, who played Dinny.
