Sinn Fein demand Mandelson appearance

Lawyers for Sinn Fein are demanding that the Northern Secretary Peter Mandelson appear in court over his ruling on the flying of the union flag over government buildings. The party's lawyers are alleging Mr Mandelson did a deal with the Ulster Unionist Party leader David Trimble against the provisions of the Good Friday agreement.

Today's hearing of a judicial review of Mr Mandelson's ruling was adjourned after Sinn Fein's lawyers sought to have him appear for cross-examination.
