Irish Balkan troops to receive uranium screening

Irish troops who served in the Balkans are to receive screening tests for depleted uranium following a report from the defence forces chief of staff who visited the region recently.

The Department of Defence insists that radiological contamination from exposure to depleted uranium is so low it is considered negligible.
